WELCOME to Year 26 of COLLEGE BOUND: Issues & Trends for the College Admissions Advisor

Dear CB Subscriber:

Some say change is inevitable. Others say change is good. So this month, CB is trying something new.

For years, CB delivered the news about college admissions and financial aid in print format only. Then, with the Internet, we made the issue available as it went to the printer so that those of you who wanted immediate access to the information could have it.

We provided readers with an electronic version that was easy to access in addition to a PDF file that looked like the original newsletter. This made it possible to access web addresses and links immediately from our website. Some of you took out Institutional subscriptions so that you could make the electronic version available to your entire school community. Initially, we gave you both versions because not everyone in schools had access to sophisticated computers, quality printers and Acrobat reader.

But now, we believe we are all ready for the next step. This fall, CB is posting the electronic version of the newsletter in PDF format only. Since this electronic newsletter looks like the original blue-banned version, it is suitable for printing on your printer and it has the links to news source websites built in.

So, we urge you to log on to COLLEGE BOUND, the award-winning, monthly newsletter, at www.collegeboundnews.com with your subscriber code during the first week of each month and throughout the school year. Then print it yourself! That way, you can get your own copy of CB early, even before it is professionally printed.

In fact, if you have a subscription, we give you permission to print the newsletter as you need (we prefer light, ivory-colored paper ourselves). Hole-punch it for a binder or staple the four pages together. In short, by printing it yourself, you can read CB’s reports as soon as they are available. No waiting for snail mail.  But don’t worry. This fall, you will still receive your printed copy.

One more note: We also urge you to visit CB’s “Admissions Story-of-the Day” on the front page of www.collegeboundnews.com to find recent links to important admissions and financial aid news stories from across the nation. The “Admissions Story-of-the Day,” is another way CB helps you keep up with developments and perspectives that affect your students and families, as well as academic and high school and college professionals. (Bookmark and visit CB’s “Admissions Story of the Day” often!)

Have a great school year! And don’t hesitate to share your thoughts with us at editor@collegeboundnews.com

Thank you for your continued interest in COLLEGE BOUND.

The Editors.
